The #1 DTC category for $1B+ valuations
There’s a new trend emerging in the world of E-Commerce.
4-5 years ago all the buzz was around health and wellness. Supplements and consumables were taking off, especially if they were paired with a well known influencer for branding purposes.
These brands crushed with the right leadership because they solved two problems at the same time.
One, they were a direct competitor and replacement to all the garbage that filled our grocery store isles.
Two, they had extremely high repeat purchase rates and LTV, meaning they were able to outspend and outbid competitors in high leverage environments like Meta and TikTok.
These days, their competitive advantage has been largely neutralized due to saturation.
Not to say it isn’t possible to make money, it’s just a lot more difficult than it used to be.
But there’s a new golden age quickly approaching.
The way I see it, we’re in circa 2019/2020 for supplements and CPG.
It all revolves around Telehealth.
Packaging your health and wellness product with a licensed Doctor or healthcare professional. Cutting out retail operations as the middle man. Conducting business that traditionally required a tedious walk-in appointment and valid prescription, all through an online portal that takes 20 minutes or less for the consumer.
Examples include hair loss, testosterone boosters, sex drive boosters, and weight loss like Ozempic.
All of these drugs and supplements used to be incredibly annoying and expensive to get your hands on.
DTC telehealth is changing that, in real time.
The barrier to entry is obviously much higher than a traditional DTC brand, which discourages the small players from even starting.
But if you have the time and capital? It’s easily one of the best businesses to start in 2025 and beyond.
I’m lucky enough to be on the ground floor with one, focusing entirely on Men’s health. A market segment largely ignored by government and companies alike for decades.
The brand I’m working with is easily a $1B - $2B+ valuation by 2030.
Anyway, nuff said.
